Abstract
[Extract] Government support for residential aged care facilities (RACFs) in Australia has undergone major periodic shifts in the attempt to match residents’ needs and the costs of care. The money involved is considerable: during 2018–19, the Australian government provided $13.3 billion in subsidies, with more than 200 000 people living in RACFs.
