Abstract

Rhys Gillman researched liver and oral cancers. He studied a previously uncharacterised gene and found that it suppresses liver cancer. This gene may be a target of future cancer therapy. He also studied the pathogenesis of cigarette-smoke in oral cancer cells and found that smoking promotes metastasis during radiation treatment.
