Abstract

Welcome to the first issue of ANZJOG for 2022! This is a significant year for the journal: 2022 will be the last year in which paper issues are produced. ANZJOG will be entirely online from February 2023. The decision to make this change is consistent with many other journals of ANZJOG’s size. It has been made after extensive discussion by both the editorial board of the journal and the RANZCOG board. Although we understand there will be some nostalgia felt by a certain number of our readers, the decision reflects the patterns of use of the journal of most of our readership, who are increasingly reading and downloading articles from both EarlyView and the online versions that we currently produce rather than waiting for the paper issue to fall through their letter-boxes. The ‘red journal’ will continue to have its red masthead and the current layout but not in hard copy.
