Abstract

The aims of this chapter are to: define the meaning of ‘periphery’ as it applies to visitor attractions, identify factors that affect the success of attractions in the periphery, and discuss the significance of these factors in the development of attractions in peripheral regions, using Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia, as a case study.
