Abstract
[Extract] The Prouterinidae Foreyt, Schell & Beyer, 1996 was erected for Prouterina wescotti Foreyt, Schell & Beyer, 1996, a species found in the nasal and paranasal sinuses of a single black bear (Ursus americanus) from Idaho, USA (Foreyt et al., 1996). Specimens were also detected in the lungs and brain. No additional hosts or localities are known (Foreyt et al., 1999).
