Abstract
[Extract] The field of microbiota–gut–brain axis research and medicine, including the potential and application of faecal microbiome transplants (FMT), continues to accelerate.1 Here we update the evidence regarding the use of FMT in psychiatry, discuss the many clinical and methodological challenges, and make recommendations to guide further high-quality research.
