Abstract
Elizabeth Gumbaketi explored young women's experiences at menarche in Papua New Guinea (PNG). She found that socio-cultural norms around menstruation restricts pre-menarche preparation impacting on young women's menstrual health and wellbeing. Health and Education sectors in PNG are using the results to improve sexual and reproductive health communication of adolescent females.
