Abstract

This thesis investigates the issue of gender violence in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Through witness perspectives and storytelling it is reported that people in a local community (Baimuru, Gulf Province) have social and moral concerns that frame their social action, including acts of gender violence. Local witness stories are an important perspective to document and should be used to inform appropriate National responses to gender violence in PNG.
