Abstract
The main topics of this Thesis are inter-and intramolecular photoinitiated electron transfer reactions with thioethers and carboxylates as electron donating components. As electron acceptors aromatic imides such as phthalimides, trimellitic and quinolinic acid imides were used. The first Chapter deals with applications of intermolecular PET-additions of alkyl carboxylates, alpha-ketocarboxylates, as well as alpha-and beta-donorsubstituted alkyl carboxylates. The second Chapter deals with applications of intramolecular PET-cyclization reactions of omega-phthalimido thioethers, alkyl carboxylates and the corresponding alpha-and beta-donorsubstituted alkyl carboxylates. The alkyl chains which were used as linkers between electron donor and acceptor groups could be further functionalized by using ester or amide groups.
