Abstract

[Extract] Quality, timely and complete health information from multiple sources—including but not exclusively from the health sector—should be generated, compiled, analysed, communicated, and used for evidence-based decision-making on policy, planning, and management at all levels of the health system. This is not the case in the Pacific, as health information systems (HIS) tend to be incomplete and fragmented by function, disease or condition and donor or global health initiatives.
