Abstract
The article recently published by McClure et al. in Paediatrics and International Child Health [Citation1] demonstrates that rural populations in Cambodia have poorer access to basic public health interventions than their urban counterparts. So why is access to health care socially patterned in Asia, and what are the implications of such social or geographic patterning of health care access for the design of health systems?
