Abstract
Homoleptic [La(Me(2)pz)(3)](n) (Me(2)pz = 3,5-dimethylpyrazolato) is a mu-eta(2):eta(5)-Me(2)pz coordination polymer with 12-coordinate La atoms in an unusual eta(5):eta(5) Me(2)pz sandwich, whilst the cerium congener forms a molecular tetrametallic cage [Ce-4(Me(2)pz)(12)] featuring six different Me(2)pz coordination modes.
