Abstract

A further case is reported. A 76 year old woman was admitted to St. Laurence's Hospital on 22 May 1976 with a two month history of severe heartburn, aggravated by lying fiat, and vomiting. She had lost 6 Kg in weight and had suffered alternating bouts of constipation and diarrhoea. Physical examination was unremarkable apart from evidence of dehydration.
