Abstract

[Extract] Abbey is a 28-year old personal trainer who has visited your pharmacy for many years. She tells you that her partner, Jake, has been in 'rehab' for a codeine addiction that progressed to heroin use. Although excited that Jake is 'coming home clean', Abbey is worried that he may 'use again'. She has heard that opioid oversdose is more common after a period of abstinence. She asks you fo a supply of nalaxone to keepat home 'just in case', even though she has 'never given an injection before'.
