Abstract
[Extract] Action research is a popular methodology adopted by health and educational researchers interested in practice innovation. In this chapter action research will be defined and the theoretical assumptions that underpin this approach delineated. The origins of the methodology will be described, followed by an overview of the process of conceptualizing and undertaking a study using this approach.
