Abstract
A mosaic tribute to the Cane Cutter and Sugar Cane Industry in Ingham. This project is a community public art project.

Research Background | This work is based on original scholarly research into the history of Ingham and its surrounding regions. |

Research Contribution | Bianka Vidonja Balanzategui acted as historical consultant and ensured that the history presented in the mosaic is accurate and relevant. She was involved in selecting the topics to be presented, wrote the historical interpretations that form part of the work, and participated in creating the mosaic. The design of the images used in the panels was the work of the artist Kate Carr. |
Research Significance | This is an innovative and significant piece of public history based on original research. It communicates scholarly history in a manner accessible to a broad public. Its placement makes the local history of Ingham accessible and relevant to both Ingham residents and visitors seeking to understand the region. |
