Abstract
[Extract] Laos is an emerging destination for many travelers. It is one of the countries in Southeast Asia that remains unmarked by contemporary strains. Its centuries-old traditions, heritage, beautiful landscape, low population density, diverse ethnic lifestyles, and impressive biodiversity make Laos a unique tourist destination. The World Travel and Tourism Council reported that the direct contribution of travel and tourism to Laos’s GDP was about 4.6% of the total GDP in 2015. In 2015, Laos received nearly 4.7 million tourists.
