Abstract

[Extract] 1. Introduction. This study was led by Griffith University in response to a call by the National Climate Change Adaptation Research Facility to review financing mechanisms for climate change adaptation, including consideration of insurance, disaster preparedness and recovery, betterment and innovative financial instruments. The study provides a comprehensive review of the state of financing for adaptation in Australia and around the world, including a review of the role of the insurance industry in driving financing.
