Abstract

[Spanish] En el laboratorio de lingüística de la Escuela Normal de Pisa (Italia) desde el año 2007 se está investigando sobre las dos lenguas zamuco: el chamacoco y el ayoreo. El presente articulo ofrece una visión general de los pueblos mencionados. Era comúnmente aceptado que el chamacoco y ayoreo constituyeran parte de una misma familia lingüística, pero esto no estaba afianzado por ninguna demostración cientifica. La comparación morfológica entre las dos lenguas demuestra que ambas derivan de una primera lengua común (el proto-zamuco) y que al mismo tiempo son aisladas, es decir, no se pudo encontrar ninguna otra lengua emparentada con el ayoreo y el chamacoco, indice esto de un origen tan remoto que escapa a la posibilidad de una investigación cientifica.

[English] In the linguistic laboratory of Scuola Normale de Pisa (Italy) since 2007 both Zamuco languages (chamacoc and ayoreo) have been studies[d]. This article provides an overview of the aforementioned people. It was commonly accepted that the Ayoreo and Chamacoco language constituted part of the same language family, but this was not supported by any scientific evidence. Morphological comparison between the two languages demonstrates that both derive from a common language stock (proto-Zamuco); however at the same time they are isolated, this is, no other language appeared to the related to Ayoreo or Chamacoco. Thus it appeared difficult or impossible to determine scientifically the origin of these languages.
