Abstract
[Extract] The research field of design anthropology is emerging between the fields of anthropology and design research. The potential that it offers lies in the transdisciplinary orientation towards possible futures; but its methodology and epistemology are still largely unexplored. We argue in this chapter that we need to pay more attention to the ways in which design anthropologists engage with the complex challenges of emergent cultural forms, and with exploring directions for possible futures.
