Biodegradable composites produced from natural fibres and biodegradable polymers are an alternative to synthetic plastics, The optimisation of the mechanical properties for bagasse-poly(3-hydroxybutyrate) (PHB ) composite was performed and aspects such as fibre-matrix ratios and fibre surface treatment were studied, The mechanical properties of the composite were determined through flexural testing and the modes of failure studied by means of SEM.
