Abstract
This paper presents a descriptive study of the modern pollen sampled from numerous vegetation communities within the Torres Strait, the northernmost extension of Cape York Peninsula. Sampling of modern surface pollen data is a long-established technique in the interpretative refinement of fossil pollen spectra, and this study accompanies an extensive reconstruction of Quaternary Torres Strait landscapes from fossil pollen assemblages.
