Abstract

[Extract] This report provides some basic environmental information with respect to six (6) projects submitted to the Water Industry Task Force (WITF) for the Mackay Region. This document is not intended to provide complete coverage of all the environmental issues surrounding the proposed development of these projects. Indeed, it is suggested that a more detailed regional environmental assessment of these projects be conducted as soon as practicable to allow for greater certainty in infrastructure planning and to further determine potential environmental constraints.

This report briefly discusses the regional environment, possible impacts and management issues in relation to the proposed storages and associated infrastructure (but not for the development of proposed irrigation areas or industrial/urban uses).
