Abstract
[Extract] This project aimed to investigate the relationships between stream-based ecotourism and environmental quality in the Wet Tropics of Queensland by:
1. examining the impact of tourism on streams and in terms of water quality and selected ecological indicators; 2. examining the effects of environmental quality on the quality of the tourism experience; 3. developing a conceptual model interrelating two measurable parameters of stream tourist foci, namely the quality of the tourism experience and the quality of the environment; 4. providing preliminary guidelines for management of stream-based tourism sites.
