Abstract
Mesozoic magmatism in the northern Taihang Mountains, southwest of Beijing, China is characterized by the formation of a large composite batholith, the Laiyuan batholith. The batholith consists principally of adamellite, granodiorite and granite. The chemical compositions, CIPW norms, and trace element contents of the typical rocks of the Laiyuan batholith were determined. Three igneous rock series were recognized. For ten mineral deposits associated with the Laiyuan batholith, the characteristic forms, mineralogy, host rocks, associated igneous rocks were determined.
