Abstract

[Extract] Since the Newman government came to power in March 2013, its huge majority in the paliament has meant that many changes have been implemented across Queensland with little opposition or even discussion. No-where has this been more visible than in the health care sector. The Newman government has attacked the Queensland health system with gusto, citing mistakes made in the past, under the previous Labour government, as the root cause of the problems within Queensland Health, and the need for severe cuts in spending.
