Abstract

[Extract] The floating hotel concept has been adopted to meet accommodation needs in harbours, rivers and for offshore locations such as oil rigs. While the actual structure varies widely, the basic concept of a floating hotel consists of an accommodation area, usually multi-storeyed, built on top of a barge, which may be either self-powered or require a tug for relocation.
