Abstract

[Extract] Much has been written on theories of leadership and what makes a good leader. In this chapter, I am going to tell you of some who have been (and still are) great leaders in nursing and I will weave into their stories various aspects of leadership theory that have resonance for me. As such, this chapter will have something of a personal timbre, but I will try to keep it light. In that spirit, I will make a start.
