Abstract
Travel medicine represents a continuum from managing the traveller before travel, during travel and following travel. Many conditions do not manifest themselves until after return because the incubation period is longer than the travel. This chapter looks at screening travellers for the common conditions. It must be remembered that while common infections are also common in returned travellers, occasionally exotic diseases do present and malaria, especially, may mimic any presentation.
