Abstract

There are some grammatical elements in Zhuang that have grammaticalized from full verbs and lost their original lexical meanings and finally turned into grammatical markers expressing the grammatical category of aspect. These grammatical markers, which often co-occur with verbal phrases, are traditionally treated as particles. This paper categorizes these grammatical operations into tentative, manner, durative, experiential, instantaneous, resolute and perfect aspects.
