Abstract
[Extract] Food is one of the major costs for aquaculture operations typically making up between 30% and 60% of the total operating budget, depending on the intensity of the operation. Clearly, the suitability of the food used, the efficiency with which it is utilised for growth by the culture animals, and the feeding practices used are major factors determining the profitability of an aquaculture operation.
