Abstract
[Extract] This report details the findings of the pedometer study that compared physical activity levels between indoor and outdoor employees conducted at the City of Thuringowa Council in August, 2006. The overall aims of this study were: • To measure and describe self-reported occupational and leisure time physical activity levels of City of Thuringowa Council employees (indoor and outdoor); • To measure and describe the occupational and leisure time physical activity levels using pedometer step counts of City of Thuringowa Council employees (indoor and outdoor); and • To compare the number of steps accumulated by indoor and outdoor City Council employees with self-reported data on physical activity using the long version of the International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) in terms of who achieved "sufficient" levels of physical activity.
