Abstract
[Extract] This report details the findings of the baseline postal survey of physical activity patterns that was sent to a sample of Townsville residents in November and December, 2004. The overall aim of this research was to assess current physical activity levels of residents in the Townsville area as well assessing the relationship between physical activity, the physical and social environment, self efficacy and barriers to physical activity. It was hoped that the survey would provide baseline data for the 10,000 Steps Program that was launched in Townsville on the 5th November, 2004.
