Abstract
This paper focuses on the design aspects of a renewable energy-based power system to supply reliable electric power for remote applications. A solar photovoltaic array and a set of wind turbine supported by energy storage are combined to provide power for a small community. This paper presents the results of a computer simulation program, using MATLAB, to determine the components size and to observe the system's performance.
