Abstract

[Extract] This book tackles a little discussed and important topic of the built environment infrastructure improving healthcare. The introduction states the purpose of the book is to address some of the key issues related to healthcare delivery with regard to capital investment and infrastructure, design and operations management theories and their application to healthcare. The book draws on a diverse group of contributors, with each chapter building a different picture by presenting contrasting perspectives. In so doing, the book provides a compilation of diverse aspects of the built infrastructure. The book separates the practitioner and the academic in its presentation of chapters, while all in the context of the current changing nature of the delivery of healthcare.
