Abstract
Free Trade Agreements offer new opportunities for Pacific Island Countries to benefit from new connections with major trading partners, but they also present many challenges for all parties to confront if the new agreements are to have a genuine development impact; most notably the assistance required to deliver positive outcomes and minimize their impact on the postcolonial status quo.
