Abstract

A relationship between permeability and void ratio is suggested for the fibro porous material prepared sugar cane. Numerical modeling analyses are implemented for a two-roll mill dewatering prepared sugar cane based on characterization of the solid phase of the porous media with porous elasticity and crushable foam plasticity and characterization of the liquid phase through Darcy's law. The proposed mathematical model is verified and applied to the dewatering process. The available numerical analysis results are compared with measured experiment data and excellent agreement is achieved for roll separating force as a function of nip compression.
