Abstract

[Extract] Progress in accounting at the agency level is discussed in relation to plantation and small-scale forestry. Methods adopted are found to vary widely between G4 countries. Progress has been slow in incorporation of non-wood values into forestry accounts. A reporting system for community forestry in the Wet Tropics of Queensland, which takes account of government and landholder objectives in tree growing, is proposed.
