Abstract
In these days when war, terrorism and a focus on international events dominate our lives, it becomes more important than ever to have an understanding of why different cultural groups 'think what they think'. This chapter examines the issue of culture and what it means from international, national and rural perspectives. It then explores in detail three key concepts: racism, social justice and cultural safety.
