Abstract

Yomani Sarathkumara studied latent infections associated with Epstein-Barr virus and Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the causative agent of tuberculosis. She identified biomarkers using two synergistic platforms of protein expression (protein array) and gene expression (transcriptomics) to extend understanding of immune responses at the humoral and molecular level in multiple disease models associated with latent infections.
