Abstract

[Extract] Anyone with doubts about the legitimacy of the term “nuclear colonialism” must read Grappling with the Bomb. The sheer callous stupidity of exploding nuclear bombs in people’s homelands rings through this book with clarity. Nuclear colonialism is a sub-species of the more familiar form of taking and using other people’s lands for the purposes of a colonizing power and was coined by the anti-nuclear campaigner, Jennifer Viereck, in the early 1990s.
