Abstract

This chapter describes what is different about rural and remote practice and explores why inclusive practice is essential to improving access and equity to healthcare services and optimal health outcomes in the rural and remote setting. The role of individual inclusive practice and organisational inclusive practice will be considered in the rural and remote context. The 10 capabilities of inclusive practice will be applied to a rural and remote case study, and the barriers and enablers to actions of inclusivity in rural and remote health practice will be critically examined.
