Abstract

[Extract] Once you submit your manuscript to a journal, most of the journals acknowledge receipt of the paper. If you do not receive this within 2 to 3 weeks, it is worth checking by writing a letter to the editor to request for an acknowledgment. The referring process can take time and hence it is better to avoid enquiring about the status of your manuscript for at least 6 to 8 weeks. Once the manuscript is submitted to a journal, the editor initially evaluates for its appropriateness'. He/she sends the copies to two or three reviewers. These reviewers send back the written comments and suggestions within stipulated time. The editor evaluates to make the decision of the manuscript. The editor will then send you a letter describing the decision as well as the comments by the reviewers.
