Abstract

In this article it is argued that the material reality of young women's experience of young women's violence is at odds with the triumphant images of female success associated with girl power and post-feminist discourses. An analysis of the ways in which young women describe and explain dating and domestic violence is set in a context of liberal individualist ideology and masculinity politics which has implications for policy and practice.
