Abstract

[Extract] We would like to comment on the article by Lee et al (A Case of Jellyfish Sting, Vet Human Toxicology 43: 203-205: 2001) in which they present the clinical effects of a marine sting (1). We complement the authors on publicising such a case, but would like to draw attention to the experience of treating such patients in Australia (2-5) and clarify the taxonomy, diagnosis and treatment of jellyfish envenomation.
