Abstract

[Extract] Media ecology research is a contested ground between the Humanities, Social Sciences and mixed-methodologies – that's the claim from Editor, Paul Grosswiller's. Explorations in Media Ecology attempts to evolve Marshall McLuhan's ideas that media ecology "sought to bring our awareness of the media environment to awareness" (pp. 7), through five "articles [that] either ostensibly tries to or implicitly invites us to become aware of methodology in media ecology" (pp. 7). The volume is topped and tailed with an essay from Corey Anton (pp. 9-36) setting out key concepts within media ecology; and a book review on media ecology and religious pluralism (Iwuchukwu, pp. 89-91).
