Abstract

[Extract] The Australian Centre for Tropical Freshwater Research was commissioned to assess environmental factors associated with replacement of the bridge over the Norman River at the town of Normanton in north-west Queensland. A site visit was made on 8 and 9 January. The purpose of the field survey was to provide a rapid assessment of ecological values and issues to inform decision-making with respect to construction of a new bridge spanning the river to the north of the township.
