Abstract

[Extract] Much of the World's population is at risk of parasitic diseases with around 2 billion people at risk of malaria, 750 million people at risk of filariasis and 600 million at risk of lymphatic filariasis alone.1 Travellers, particularly expatriates and long-term travelers, are at risk of a range of parasitic diseases, including malaria, schistosomiasis, leishmaniasis, filariasis, cysticercosis, strongyloidiasis, and trypanosomiais.²ᵃⁿᵈ³ For those who must regularly deal with parasitic diseases, then an atlas is an invaluable aid, especially publications that are primarily directed towards teaching. This first edition of Clinical Parasitology: A Slide Seminar is one such teaching atlas of parasitology and comprises a table of Contents, 12 case studies, nearly 400 photographs and photomicrographs, and detailed discussion on the various case studies. There is also a very useful CD-ROM of the complete text and illustrations of the book. There is no Foreword, Preface, List of Abbreviations, List of Figures, references nor an Index.
