Abstract

[Extract] Introduction: In recent years, infection control has become a major concern in Hong Kong, with the outbreak of the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in 2003 and the influenza pandemic in 2009. It was generally acknowledged that the Hong Kong infection control nurses responded in an outstanding way during these crisis situations. In the aftermath, there has been much discussion about how Hong Kong can maintain a high level of infection control practices to cope with future crises.
