Abstract

I attended the first week of final year practicum service with my usual enthusiasm and energy, eager to finally experience the first day of the new school year from a teacher's perspective. I was keen to observe how my supervising teacher managed those first few days of the 'unknown', when students' personalities, abilities and social dynamics begin to emerge.
